Checking in again.... With some fun pics. This is beautyberry, Callicarpa bodinieri 'Profusion'. Those matallic purple berries hang on through most of the winter if the birds don't eat them.

This is Solanum atropurpureum, backlit by the sun. Sadly, only an anuual here but seems to self-seed pretty regularly.


This is the canna my friend Amy gave me a bit of a tuber of. I love the color, don't know which one it is though.

I've been especially bad about this blog. I'll try to do better. Here's some fall color for you.

My wee vegetable garden

So thess are all the veggies I have this year. Four tomato plants (Sungold, Roma, Oregon Spring, and Tiny Tim that I bought only for the fun name), basil, and fennel to get the bees in there. I also have some herbs in pots but it's a bummer that I don't get to eat much from my yard. Next year will be better.

Starting the plant geek blog

So this is the promised new blog of all things plants. These are some containers I did for my "million dollar condo" client this season.

I love the lime green coleus in that last one, and the variegated impatiens. I just wish the impatiens got bigger.
